Our
primary purpose was the development of a high-performance, compact
tester, so we subjected NEXIS to more intensive temperature-cycle
testing both in the development laboratory and the testing
chamber.
The
NEXIS uses a dual-element heating and cooling system that can
decline in temperature from 100 to -40ºC at a rate of 15 per
minute.
It can
rise from -40 to 100ºC at rate of 50 per minute, which makes the
unit suitable for testing both heaters and coolers.
The
new LCD touch panel design allows interactive operation, and the
unit incorporates a new computation capability that allows it to
respond to rapid temperature changes.
Setting
the rate of temperature change (slope) allows selection of the
optional heat stress for a given sample.
Addition
of the wing table allows systematic equipment layout, making NEXIS
a new type of workstation.
